Maritime Law

North Carolina boasts over 12,000 miles of coastal shoreline, two state ports, and a thriving marine industry ranging from boat building to international shipping and everything in between. The attorneys at Taylor & Taylor are not only familiar with the intricacies of maritime law, but also with the coastal landscape of eastern North Carolina.

Prior to graduating from college, Winslow Taylor obtained his United States Coast Guard Captains License.  Following his graduation from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he spent three and a half years charter fishing, commercial fishing, and delivering vessels up and down the East Coast and Caribbean Islands. Since graduating from law school in 2012, Winslow has used his knowledge of both the law and water to guide his clients in an array of maritime matters, including:

  • Salvage
  • Vessel Arrest
  • Foreclosure of Maritime Liens
  • Personal Property Loss or Damage
  • Product Liability
  • Pollution & Environmental Cleanup
  • Jones Act Claims
  • Recreational boating accidents
  • United States Coast Guard Suspension and Revocation Hearings.

At Taylor & Taylor you are never a “number” or a “file.” You will always be able to speak with an attorney. Due to the 24/7 nature of the maritime environment, our attorneys are always available should an emergency arise. If you work, play, or are just transiting through coastal North Carolina or along the East Coast, let Taylor & Taylor work for you.
